Team members of Wasps Youth FC have been turning up to training and matches in style after receiving sponsorship for a new training kit by local business, Gooding Accounts Ltd.
The under 13’s team, whose home ground is in Bratton, recently met with members of Gooding Accounts at their training session in Kingdown School, Warminster, to show off the new kit. And to say thank you for the generosity, a framed match shirt was presented by the team.
The club is mainly run by the parents, one of whom is Pam, the club secretary. She said: “These new training kits from Gooding Accounts have been brilliant over the winter months. If we didn’t have companies, or people, sponsoring us then we would find it really hard to continue.
The kids were over the moon with the new kit, they’ve worn it to all the training sessions and matches, along with their coach Colin!”
Colin said: “It’s great that we all look professional in a matching kit when turning up to a game. It really helps the boys feel part of the team and helps them bond.”
Pam agreed: “They make some great friends in these clubs and with everyone starting with the same kit, it puts them on an even playing field to start with.”
Sam, partner at Gooding Accounts explained why they chose to sponsor the team: “I’m really into my football and have coached a team myself in the past. Seeing the youngsters come through and enjoy themselves playing and becoming part of a team, is why we get involved. People like Colin and Pam give up their time for these clubs, so if we can help by financially by sponsoring the kit they need, it takes pressure off everyone else and the kids can just do what they enjoy- playing sport and having fun!”
