Drawing on my Private Sector (company Director and Consultancy) experience and Treasury, MoD HQ and Acquisition Agency background, I have an established track record in advising on Public Sector issues, particularly those related to Procurement and Project/Contract Management. Clients include both public bodies and companies wishing to do business with them and, increasingly, to challenge their procurement approaches and decisions. I also assist public sector clients to reduce the risk of such challenges which, as well as being potentially costly, can at the very least lead to delays and diversion of internal resources. My advice is provided through training sessions, one-to-one coaching and hands-on assistance with specific cases. An accredited Strategy, Project Management and Procurement adviser for the UK Government, I have also been engaged by the Serious Fraud Office as an Expert Witness and by the MoD to undertake Assurance Reviews and to advise on aspects of the management of its Research & Technology Programme, on Technology Insertion Guidance and on the Defence Acquisition Change Programme. I have also worked with Local Authorities, the NHS, the Wiltshire Police Authority and the Wiltshire & Swindon Fire Authority. I write, lecture and chair conferences on a range of public sector issues and referee papers for the Operational Research Society.
